Lump or swelling in ball bag

Hi,

About 36 hours ago I noticed a lump in my ball bag.  I hadn't noticed it before so I assume it grew quite quickly.

It is quite large, I think about 1.5-2cm long and about 1cm wide, egg shaped but slightly flattened.

It is not near the testicle and does not appear to be attached to the testicle.  It appears to be atttached to the groin or top of the leg.

Do you have any idea what it could be?

I had been away for a couple of days with family and therefore had not been sexually active.  I was quite horny and I wanked quite a lot not long before I noticed it.  Maybe that's not relevant or maybe that is the cause?

Anyway, spotted it during the early hours of Wednesday morning, and I plan on seeing a doctor on Monday if it has not gone.

If you can help, it would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Thank you for your response.

On Friday night / Saturday morning it grew substantially and caused substantial pain.

I saw a urologist on Saturday who diagnised me with a severe case of Epididymitis via a sonograph.

I was given an injection, and I have medicine (four tablets, each taken twice daily) for about three or four weeks.  I was expecting to need surgery but thankfully it will be cured by medication alone!

Thank you very much for your response.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From the symptoms it can be due to epididymal cyst, spermatocele or a hernia (inguinal hernia). Spermatocele is a retention cyst of a tubule and is benign in nature. Usually they are left as such if not causing any symptom, but if they are causing pain, then they have to be removed. Surgery is the only mode of treatment for which I would suggest you to consult a urologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. Treatment can be started only when the diagnosis is confirmed. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
