Hello,
Microscopic hematuria can be due to urinary tract (bladder) infection, swelling in the filtering system of the kidneys ,stone in bladder or in a kidney, blood disease, like sickle cell anemia, certain medicines and tumors in the urinary tract.
You may need a series of investigations like urine examination, urine culture, ultrasound or cystoscopy to confirm the diagnosis. If the tests have come out negative then you need to get a cystoscopy done to rule out any tumor or malignancy. Please consult a urologist and get it done.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
I have had all the test you mentioned plus a cystoscopy. My next test is a CT scan scheduled for tomorrow. My doctor swears its going to come back negative. He then wants to see me every 6 to 8 months for a urine sample and monitoring. Is this common, or is there something going on that I should be concerned about?
