hey are you still around, how did the moxy work out for you?
4 days into moxifloxacin. My urethritis is slightly better but still very noticable. My flanks no longer hurt but i still have bladder stiffness. My Dr extended my mox prescription to 10 days total. Early next week i have an appointment to for ultrasound of kidneys, pelvis and prostate. My dr thinks it may be m genitalium considering all the drugs I've been described haven't worked. Also, he suggested after the mox cycle is done to have my urethra scoped to see if anything else could be physically seen. No answers yet
I'm 34 days into urethritis. I do not wish this upon anyone. It is torture that overtakes your life. Today has been rough. I started Moxifloxacin yesterday. This afternoon i started feeling flank soreness(kidneys) and as if my bladder is rigid. I'm at a complete loss as to what is going on. Its a scary position to be in. I have no idea what is going on with my body. Its poisoning my life. I need help. Been to 3 urologists total(absolutely useless) two pcps and now I'm seeing an internist. I'm praying this mox is my solution. Its only a 7 day cycle. I have no idea. I'll be sure to post continuously in case i find a solution and can help someone else out with this awful ailment.
Okay so an update. Symptoms are exactly the same. Urethra irritation that is all the time. I documented every day as far as symptoms. After taking the cipro, i got mild relief. My dr did a little investigating and assumed i had M. genitelium. It would be the bacteria that could resist azrithromycin 1gm and doxy for 2 weeks. Because the cipro gave mild relief he put me on a 7 day course of Moxifloxacin. It seems to erradicate the stuff in most studies where doxy failed. I just started the mox today about 3 hours ago. Not sure what else could cause persistent urethritis for over a month. Any other ideas if this doesn't work?
Thank you for the answer. I have started a probiotic about two days ago. It is an OTC probiotic. I take it twice per day. Is there a way to test for yeast? Should i make a further appointment with my urologist? He seemed to blow it all off considering urine and blood were neg for the common stds.
Yeast is possible. If done with antibiotics, take a prebiotic, avoid sugar, eat garlic, shower with neem soap, try Lotrimin cream.
