Trichomonas is a possible. Usually there is a discharge. Your urologist will need to do a prostatic massage and then look at the fluid in order to make the diagnosis. A semen culture for trich might also work.
When the symptoms go on this long without changing, I doubt that this is what is happening. Then again, I never say "never" in medicine! Give it a last "shot" and see what they find.

Hi Doctor,
Thankyou for you swift response. I just find it difficult believing that it is a psychological issue. I got Chlamydia on a holiday with friends when I was single and it was never an issue for me.
It is hard believing it is psychological when you are physically feeling the sensation every day and at times I get such an itch down my urethra that I need to squeeze it in order for it to be less of a hindrance.
The urolgist I went to last time believes I had mild prosatisis but I am concerned that if I leave whatever it is untreated it could become a problem for me in later life (i.e. affect fertility etc).
Symptoms - Sensation down urethra, dark veins on penis, red end of penis, sometimes a 'pumping' sensation in penis.
Is there any chance this could be 'trich' which I have heard mentioned on here before?
Regards
I have seen many patients who have persistent symptoms after a sexually transmitted infection, particularly if they have contracted the infection during an extramarital encounter. It is an emotional issue and I would suggest you do what you need to in order to come to terms with it. Obviously you have had multiple assurances that things are OK now. You had a straight forward infection and had it treated and now you are cured. If you cannot shake the feeling in your urethra, consider professional emotional help to assist you. I certainly would not expect any long term physical sequelae to this type of infection, and the longer you have the anxiety related to it, the more difficult it will be to get over it. See someone soon so that you can be freed!

Also, too add to that. When I urinate my urine occassionally has a burning smell to it.
