Penis Pain

I have a slight pain at the point where the head of my penis and the shaft meet.  It feels somewhat like a cavity does and I only notice it when I'm in the shower; once the water hits the area directly.  There is no inflamation, bumps, pus, burning urination.  It's the only symptom.  I've had an STD panel done and all negative.  I was prescribed two different steroid creams to use but the pain still exists.

First noticed the pain one night durning PROTECTED intercourse.  The next day I was sore.  That was in April.  Ever since then the pain has existed.

Ok, I'm on antibiotics for prostatitis.  Had a colonoscopy done on June 23rd; my prostate was enlarged.  I'm on day 24 of antibiotics and that pain I thought had gotten better but the last two days I've noticed it lasting after my shower.

Problem is, I'm in the military so every time I go to the clinic I have to see a new doctor and start the whole process all over again.  You mentioned herpes but I had an STD panel done with negative results.  Trauma is a possibility as I first felt the pain during intercourse; but would the pain last this long?  Especially since I haven't been sexually active since May?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
Dull pain in the penis can be due to an inflammation of the prostate or prostate enlargement. The other differentials in clude, herpes, infection, trauma, priapism, cancer, etc.

You can have an ultrasound of the penis (doppler) to check for any abnormalities in blood supply.

There are a few precancerous conditions of the penis which may manifest with pain or tenderness and these need to be ruled out.

You should consult your urologist for further investigations and diagnosis in view of the fact that the problem has been persistent for the past few months.

Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
