Penis Rash

I have a rash on my penis that itches and has been spreading.  I saw my doctor who thought it was "just that time of the year" and told me to put aquaphor at it.

On friday I had sex w/ a condom, but had unprotected oral.  I went home (in the cold) with out cleaning my penis off first so it was with a sticky penis most likey *** and saliva.  When I got home I took a bath and cleaned off my penis.  Hours later I noticed that there was a red blotch on the head of my penis.

Saturday-  It was still there so I started using neosporin

Sunday- Same

Monday- Nothing had changed I put hyrdrocortizone cream on it as well.   I also notice 2 tiny red areas on the shaft, that I started using neosporin and hydrocortizone cream on

Tuesday- I started using triple anti biotic on it w/ nothing else, and noticed the red ares growing slightly

Wednesday-  The red areas were bigger and itchy.  The blotch had gone down in redness, slightly purplyer than the normal penis color.  By the end of the day the red itchy areas had gone swollen and grown more

Thursday-  I went to see the doctor(pediatrician).  He said it was dry and put aquaphor on it. (it does not feel dry)  A read ring has grown around the orginal splotch on the head that had gone down to normal almost normal.

Friday- Aquaphor has not helped and the rash seems only to be spreading on the shaft seems only to be spreading.

Any help?  Sorry for the long post, I just didn't want to leave any thing out.

Thanks in advance

Thank you very much for your response.  The purplish area is only where the blotch on the head has gone down, and is very close to normal color now.  Could it still be lichen planus?  Also I forgot to mention it only itches on the shaft, not the head.   Whatever it is, is there harm in waiting to see a dermatologist?  My parents will want me to try what our pediatrician said to do for a while first before I go to a Dermatologist.

Anything I can do in the meantime?  Will keeping it lubricated with aquaphor(its basically vassaline), what the pediatrician said to do, be bad in anyway?
Thanks you so much,
hippo

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be tinea cruris or fungal infection of the penis or lichen planus which presents as flat purplish rash on the penis. Treatment for tinea cruris is antifungal drugs(topical and oral) and lichen planus is steroids, retinoids, hydroquinone and phototherapy. You should get it evaluated from a dermatologist.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
