Hello, I had a hysterectomy 12/17/12 and was back in er on 12/24/12 having surgery for damaged urethra and kidney had torn.  They added a stent to help repair.  On 2/18/13 they removed stent said all was repaired.  Here it is 3/2/13 and I'm still having sharp pains that make me think their is blockage again.  Since the pain is not as severe so I hate to go to er again.  I have tried to reach Dr and explain but no calls returned.  I'm in the process of finding a new urologist.  Again pain is not as bad but I'm afraid it could get that way again.  Maybe this is something that will always be in my life.  Has anyone experienced this before.  Appreciate any advice.  Still in pain.    lisa

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello and hope you are doing well.

The sensation of a bubble/gas from the urethra may be due to a polyp, a cyst or a growth. If there is increased discharge, foul smelling or with itchiness it is most probably an infection. Also, if there is accompanying swelling, redness, discharge and fever it is most probably an infection. You may need to consult your primary care physician who will examine you and initiate appropriate therapy.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
