How long do these take from the time needle is in injected? Red flags went up when the doctor walks into room and says it will only take 30 seconds. This in no way seems like enough time to insert liquid and thoroughly inspect bladder for cysts or scar tissue especially considering 2 years ago I had ruptured bladder reconstruction followed by 10 months of catheters and multiple UTIs and still have pain/discomfort in the area. Upon performing test he said there was urethral stricture in area closest to bladder and pulled needle out saying needle could not get close enough to bladder to look inside. Total BS(?) because I had a severe stricture two years ago where I could not pee and there was catheter in bladder. Now I have scar tissue but stricture is not nearly as severe and I have no urinary flow issues, yet doctor says needle can't pass through much less severe stricture? Am I missing something here?
1. Considering the doctor walked into room and said it will only take 30 seconds can a cystoscopy be performed properly in 30 seconds considering time needed to inject liquid and do thorough bladder exam for cysts and scar tissue, especially considering my history as outlined above?
2. Why wouldn't the needle used be able to pass through scar tissue when before I had much more severe stricture(I could not urinate barely at all and needed urethroplasty) and catheters were place through urethra?
3. Perhaps he was rushed and was only going to take 30 seconds, as per his initial comment, regardless and used the stricture as a convenient excuse?
