Urethral Irritation,pleaseHelp

I am having and had this tingling sensation in somewhere inside my penis(Urethra i guess) a few months ago and was going to loo every half an hour or so ,no pains,no obstruction kind of feeling,  just a desire to go  to void after this tingling sensation.Saw my GP,nothing in my urine, tests negative for infection and he recommended bactrim for 5 days. This condition stayed for 3to 4 weeks and then went off on its own. After 6-7 months i am having the same problem of this tingling+ somewhat burn, going to loo every half an hour or so for last one and half months.somedays nothing is there, normal frequency of urine and the other days it is the tingle and irritating thing again.Been on norflox but didnt solve the condition.Nothing abnormal  found with ultrasound, urine tests, and blood.I read same problem with another guy on this forum. Is it something to do with intercourse or masturbation, which is a yes from me and haven't abstained from either of them for more than a week.Is it a trauma to urethra or something else. I will really appreciate if somebody can tell me what this nuisance is?? Treatment/Management.I really want it to go away as it is affecting my family life...Please help me..

Hi,
How are you? It could be prostatitis or an STD. Have you got a STD panel done? As recurrent infections could be  due to that cause. Also a prostrate examination would reveal if any inflammation if present.
What is your age? Benign prostrate enlargement can cause obstructive symptoms and infection there by.
I would suggest that you visit a urologist and discuss the above mentioned possibilities and advise on appropriate treatment.
Best.

Thanks for your advice.Actually urine tests revealed no STD or any other infection.Ultrasound was normal so with no prostrate enlargement  and any other  bacterial infection was observed.Manual digital examination by physician came up with no pain and tenderness in groin area. please update me if you think anything.
