Hi,
It is possible that you have nonspecific urethritis. This is a condition that affects men who are sexually active and is marked by the absence of any infection with gonorrhea or chlamydia.
Symptoms of urethritis persist indefinitely unless they are treated with a course of broad spectrum antibiotics.
Other causes of urethral irritation include repeated squeezing or milking of the urethra, vigorous masturbation or sexual activity, dehydration, caffeine and alcohol intake, allergies, etc.
It would help to provide a better diagnosis if you could also detail the location, type, duration, and onset of the abdominal pain and any other symptoms you have and medications that you are on currently.
Do keep us posted on any further doubts in this regard.
Hi Doctor Mathews,
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question. Yes my problem is very ambigious and quite frustrating at times. It seems pretty persistant, although when i shower and such it seems to subside which makes no sense to me.
The irritation is located throughout the urethra and in no specific place (I guess this is where non-specific urethritis stems from..) It doesnt necessarily burn when i urinate and nothing to set off any alarms that is unbarable but it is noticable throughout my day.
What are the treatments for NGU? My doctor prescribed my arzomythrin 1g for possible chlamydia and it seemed like my major issues went away but still lingered, so im assuming it helped in killing some bacterium.
If you have any other recommendations i would GReatly appreciate it, also are their any Supplements i can take that will help cleanse my urethra and or help this subside without prescriptions since they arent helping... ?
Thank you so much.
