Can someone help me understand my urine cytology results? Benign urothelial and many squashmous cells are present in background of bacteria few mixed inflammatory cells rare red blood cells and sediment
Hi there!
The report does not mention the number/ concentration of the red blood cells seen and hence it would be difficult to comment specifically on the situation. If the RBCs are few, a follow-up may be recommended if suggested by your doctor. However of the number of RBCs is more than a few, further testing to ascertain the cause of GU bleeding may be required. I would suggest discussing the situation and the suggested management plan in detail with your treating doctor.
Hope this is helpful.
Take care!
