Hi,

Gardnerella vaginalis has been reported as part of the normal flora in the vagina. However, it is one of the main causes of bacterial vaginosis.

Treatment for G. vaginalis is a combination antibiotic with metronidazole and clindamycin.

You will have to post details of the other antibiotic to check whether it comes under the spectrum that G. vaginalis is sensitive to.

ALso, antibiotic resistance of vaginalis infections have been increasing, so it would be best to switch to the other antibiotics mentioned above or have a culture sensitivity done to identify which antibiotic the bacteria is sensitive to.
Burning urination is a sign of UTI and means that the infection is persisting or progressing, instead of resolving.

Additionally drink 2000 ml of water per day (min)
Increase intake of vitamin C-rich fruit or juices, such as citrus or cranberry juices.
Take tylenol for the pain.

But change your prescription at the earliest.

Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
Regards
