bilateral varicocele

Under ultrasound and doppler study of the scrotum i have been deducted a multiple dilated veins of2-3mm are seen in both the spermatic cords.Reversal of flow is seen in these veins during Valsalva manoeuvre.
Impression = Bilateral varicocele.

1) Surgical repair has to be done or not ?
2) It will affect my sperm? or it will affect during intercource?

hey alaska911 i have a question for you. I'm 1 week post-op varicocelectomy and i can still feel the dilated vein on left scrotum but it's no longer causing pain. my question is, if you can remember, did you feel the vein after your surgery, if you did, did it fade away? or was the vein gone after surgery and did your scrotum look normal right away. please give me a time frame on what to expect. thanks. i wont be hearing from my doc until next week and i want answers from people who went through the same surgery. thanks!

yep, you have varicocele. i just have my surgery done last week, it ***** the post OP. No sex for 20 days, and no lifting weights... Surgical its i think the only way to fix this problem, no you dont have to do it in a rush, but long term could lead be steril, so have it in mind... doenst affect your intercourse maybe a litte pain after you finish, but you could take a pain killer like MOBIC and be happy...
