Hi
Thank you I was telling him that, he also states that the more activity getting up and moving around, seems to make his urine darker, laying still the less discoloration he has, When it was dark and bloody he had gotten up to do little things around the house, now lying still it is less, does this make any sense???

Hi,

With Urinary tract infection and prostate causes rued out, it is more likely the kidneys responsible for the symptoms your husband is experiencing right now. However, the CT scan would really  help in visualizing his kidneys and comparing it with his previous scan would guide his doctors and possibly arrive through a diagnosis.  I would also recommend that he see his primary care doctor and depending on the scan, be referred to a specialist for further evaluation. Take care and keep us posted.

He has a little discomfort, under this left rib,but it can also be stress the sytoms just came on Sat. morning with a little pain to the left at his belly bottom, that went away. no pain when urinating and no feeling of not empting of  the bladder , they ruled out urinary tract infection, because of our insurance they could not do a CT scan that I will request on monday.  They did a prostate exaine, on side was a little enlarged but, wasn't worried about it.  He has not done any strenuous exercise, he takes lipitor, protonics, for barretts, and astelin for allergies.  He did have a CT scan last year at about the same time this year and they saw cysts on his kidney.  He has had kidney stones before and drinks a lot of water, pain was different.  He is currently on antibotics just to make sure, but, the doc at the er "said" that he dosen't beleive it will go away, and to see our primary care doc.

Hi,

How is your husband? Are there other signs or symptoms present?  Hematuria or blood in the urine  may be due to urinary tract infections which includes kidney infections; a bladder or kidney stone; enlarged prostate; kidney disease; kidney injury;  inherited disorders such as sickle cell anemia; certain medications; possible tumor and even strenuous exercise. Aside from urinalysis, imaging studies such as ultrasound or CT scan may be done to rule out other causes mentioned.

Take care and do keep us posted.
