Hi,
Trauma to the penis in the erect or flaccid state can cause damage to the urethra and the soft tissue of the penis and can even cause the formation of arteriocavernosal fistula (which leaves the penis in an uncomfortable, semi-erect state).
Trauma to the urethra can cause severe bleeding, especially if there is a tear in the mucosa. The urethral mucosa can heal over a couple of weeks but in the presence of infection or excessive scar tissue formation, there can be stricture formation within the urethra. This can block the flow of urine and can cause frequent infections of the urinary tract.
Ensure that you keep your fluid intake over 2000 ml per day, avoid caffeine and alcohol, pass urine every 2 hours (to keep the urethra free of bacteria), and avoid sexual activity until your visit to the urologist.
Do keep us posted on any further doubts and your progress.
