****Alteration of hormones (messengers) between the hypothalamus (upper brain), pituitary (main message center in the brain) and the testicles.****
hey ! this maybe the ansawer for low libido??
Im with out libido too, and on the doppler test says Im with varicocele, but I have a plus, a lump on my left testicle/top(the same testicle with varicocele)...
ISo idont know if its the lump(infection maybe?) or the varicocele.
The varicocele cirurgy its safe? Will recovery me?
CHeers
I also was just diagnosed with a (grade 2) Varicocele last week and my main symptom is a loss of sexual energy, the doctor said it doesnt effect testosterone but I dont see how that is possible, I did some research on a Johns Hopkins study said it does effect testicular function, espeically on both testicals if you have it on the side which is where I have them
This really *****
I think my free testosterone is very low for a 20 year old. I don't know how the varicocele did that and why it's still low after the surgery but i'm having serious problems, and the doctor who did the surgery told me it was all psychologycal - the same thing as saying i'm perfectly healthy.
Problems Caused by Varicoceles:
Elevated scrotal temperatures alter development maturation of sperm.
Alteration of hormones (messengers) between the hypothalamus (upper brain), pituitary (main message center in the brain) and the testicles.
Stagnation of blood around the testicles.
Loss of testicular mass at the microscopic level.
A varicocele on one side can deleteriously affect that testicle as well as the opposite testicle.
Semen analyses may show decreased counts, decreased motility (swimming ability), increased number of abnormally shaped sperm, and abnormal sperm function (e.g. on a sperm penetration assay).

Hi,
The result of your hormone test is normal. After varicocelectomy, it takes about 90 days for a sufficient quantity of new sperm to be produced to permit fertilization. Semen analysis usually is done at 3- and 6-month intervals after the operation to check for infertility. Furthermore, In a study done, premature ejaculation has been found with a high frequency in men with varicocele.

If this persists, it would be best to see your doctor for further evaluation. Take care and keep us posted.
