late bloomer... (seeing endocrinologist for hgh (humatrope))

Hi, I'm 16 and i would first like to point out I'm already seeing an endocrinologist for my height and am taking humatrope daily. My problem is that at 16 I have no armpit hair, almost no leg hair or arm hair and am small below. I have seen no real increase in width or length in a long time. I was wondering if this is because I am a late bloomer or maybe I have other hormone problems besides what gets sent to my growth plates. If so should I talk to my endocrinologist about it? Can I take hormones for that as well?

I suggest talking to your endocrinologist about your concerns.  They are familiar with your situation are best suited to answer your questions.

I'll attempt to give you what information I have learned in dealing with low GH, delayed puberty, etc.  Don't rush the puberty thing.  I know it's tough, but right now a delayed puberty is working to your advantage.  Your doctor has probably been inquiring about your level of development.  That's because once puberty begins, your growth plates begin closing, marking the beginning of the end of your growth.  The things you mentioned, lack of length/width, hair, muscle mass, all will change as you enter puberty and your testosterone levels begin increasing.

One last thing.  I feel like I have to mention the marijuana smoking.  I don't know if it is contributing to your delayed growth.  I doubt it.  However, nothing good will come from it.  Sure, you enjoy it.  But, part of growing up/maturing is realizing that there are some things you should not be doing, no matter how much you enjoy it.  So, do the mature thing and quit.

I would say your endocrinologist is taking certain steps in a natural order. Any deviation such as prematurely inducing puberty could leave you short in stature permanently.

Late bloomers happen. At my HS graduation we had a kid 4' 8" tall and 18 years old that looked more like a 12 year old. His younger freshmen brother had a beard and was a full 6 feet tall.

When we celebrated our 5th year class reunion, he was the talk of the class. 6' 2" and about 200 pounds of solid muscle. Oh, yes there was some pay back time, but I deserved every ounce of punishment he dished out. (roll a base ball across the table with my nose typical old initiation thing)

Good Luck!

I didn't have any arm pit hair either at 16.  I think when I was seventeen it started to grow.
As for smoking weed, well I don't know what that will do if anything.

If unsure, you are best to see a doctor or something, since worrying can stunt growth and possible delay peberty :)
I had lots of anxiety probs and some depression when youg so i reckon that delayed my growth, thougth it did not stunt it really, just delayed it.

i was looking at other sites and it pointed out lack of normal muscle growth being a part of delayed puberty and I work out 5 times a week and am normaly developed when it comes to size and definition of pecks bi's etc..

Also I had heard before that smoking marajuana can cause problems with puberty and I started smoking when I was 12ish. Is that true?
