Acute or Chronic epididymitis?

I have a cyst on my left testicle & was removed by a surgery about 10 weeks ago, since the surgery my left side is very swollen & firm until now, i did 2 Ultrasound & my doctor said it looks fine & gave me one course of Antibiotics with no improvement. I think it's either Acute or Chronic epididymitis since he said the Ultrasound shows the testicle fine without issue. i have no pain or fever or any signs of infection, just big & firm left side.
What can the treatment be?

Hi,

Have you completed your antibiotics already?

I advise that you seek a follow up consult with your surgeon. A repeat ultrasound may be done as well as a repeat urinalysis,a urine culture, culture of prostate secretion and a urethral swab culture. At this point, the results may not really show anything however it may be used as a baseline assessment for your condition. The tests may also help assess your response to the medications.

Thanks for your reply.
I know every thing seems to be OK, but I'm very worried about the congestion (the size of my left side & the firmness) which it doesn't seems to have any improvement since my surgery 10 weeks ago, still as big & firm.
I did the surgery to get rid of the embarrassing big size & now it's even bigger & firmer

Hi,

Based on what you have posted, you have been managed well and follow up tests showed that everything appears to be normal. You have completed your course of antibiotics and a testicular ultrasound (is this correct?) was done which also did not show significant findings.

I suggest that you continue to observe your symptoms. At this point, there seems to be no indication for immediate intervention. To allay you worries, a repeat urinalysis may be done as well as a urine and prostate secretion culture. However,at this point they may not really show anything that may alter management.

My urologist said the biopsy was normal. was just normal fluid in the cyst. he gave me 10 days of antibiotics & i finished it with no improvement. I don't take any pain medication since i don't have any pain. i was taking Motrin while taking the antibiotics. I'm asking because my urologist doesn't seem to know. he said every thing seems fine from the ultra sound, do i need urine culture & any further testing? do i need a different type of antibiotics?
could it be Acute or Chronic epididymitis?

Hi,

Was a biopsy done on the removed cyst? What was the diagnosis for the testicular cyst?

The ultrasound has shown no significant findings. So a hernia, hydrocele, varicocele and an underlying inflammation may be ruled out.Complete your course of antibiotics and observe your symptoms. At this point  pain relievers may be able to help since there is no ready indication for further intervention. If there is no improvement in your symptoms, get a follow up consult with your urologist.
