need help with my xray?

i just got an IVP x-ray done  were they inject dye into your system and they take a alot of x-rays.  well every shot they took it showed my left kidney normal nothing in it.  but my right one had white spots on it because it was holding the urine and it even showed my left kidney was spilling the urine down my tube into my bladder but there was hardly nothing coming out of my right.  at the end of the x-ray there was still alot of urine in my right kidney and it was starting to spill very slowly.  is that good?

I am not a doctor and cannot provide a diagnosis. Get a second opinion at a teaching or University hospital.

Good luck.

I had that same test done a few years ago. I believe they inject nuclear material, which glows, so they can follow the progress through the urinary system. Obviously, your right kidney is not emptying because  something is blocking the ureter, the tube that leads to the bladder. In my case, surgery had weakened the wall of the ureter and they inserted a stent inside the ureter for six weeks while the wall healed. They then removed the stent and everything has been fine since.

I imagine your doctor will call you and tell you the results and what might be blocking your kidney from draining(stones, etc.). It is important to get it remedied as soon as possible for I was told the kidney could "back up" and leak urine into your body.

Good luck.
