pain after varicocele surgery

i undergone a varicocele surgery on April 29 2010. The procedure went quite good but after surgery i am having severe pain in my left testicle. My surgeon says it is because blood has recently started flowing in that area.
Any suggestions/advice in this regard

first of all thanks for your advice in the above regard.
My surgeon started antibiotics(amicasin and amox) both through injection and orally(some tablet) also. Also advised pain killers if needed. After that pain in the left testicle is decreasing but swelling is still persistent.
He also recommended an ultrasound

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Any type of surgical procedure is followed by pain and discomfort for some day after surgery. You can take some anti inflammatory pain killers like Acetaminophen for the pain. But if the pain is severe or persistent then please get an evaluation done from a urologist. It may be caused by shunting the blood flow to new veins which may develop into a varicocele recurrence. It can also be due to any infection of the site and needs to be ruled out by means of an ultrasound.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
