peeing blood

22 yrs old 5' tall 130 lbs, no health problems, 2 yr old son, no problems dureing or after pregnancy. last period was may 13th. i switched from the pill to depo shot may 28th. july 8th i woke up around 3 am having the urge to go pee, i went a little amount but then still pushing (feeling like i had to pee still) blood came out instead and alot of it and it hurt. I was literally peeing alot of blood and it hurt. That happened less than 5 times that day...i stopped bleeding like that in the afternoon. i got checked that morning by a doc (i'm on a ship in the navy) took a preg. test and came negative..and high blood and protien in urine. ever since then, i get that urge of still having to pee after i'm done going and it only hurts when blood comes out(whether drips or alot, doesnt matter) this is happening on and off and the blood only comes out a couple hours after having sex. whats wrong with me? any ideas? i was thinking UTI that first morning but i've had it yrs ago and never bled. is bleeding normal for uti? would uti be on and off like it is? is bleeding only after having sex cuz of the uti or cuz of the depo shot and not having my period? please help!

UTIs (specifically cystitis) can give you haematuria. ive had it before so thats probably what it is in which case youll need antibiotics since its recurring. even still, like the doc said, it may be something else, so go get it checked asap! good luck!

yesturday (7-17) was the first day i didn't have that feeling of still having to urinate after already going. I had sex the night before so should i still see a doc? last time i bled was 2 days ago that morning. My only conditions now are real bad headaches and bad cramps and both of those are on and off...i'm sure from the depo shot? please let me know what you think. i really appreciate your help! Thank you so much

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
What you are having is hematuria. Several conditions can cause hematuria (blood in urine) and most of them are not serious; but because hematuria may be the result of a tumor or other serious problem, a doctor should be consulted. Causes can be divided according to the affected organ and they are Kidney conditions (infection, pyelonephritis, kidney stones, polycystic kidney disease), Bladder conditions (cystitis, bladder polyp, bladder tumor), Urethral conditions (Sexually transmitted diseases, urethral injury, vaginal inflammation), and certain bleeding disorders. You should visit your gynecologist who needs to conduct a detailed examination to rule out an STD and find the exact cause.

I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and regards.
