To answer your questions:
1) If the bacteria is sensitive to the antibiotics, it should resolve the infection within 14 days. There are some cases of prostatitis that may require several weeks of treatment.
2) If the doxycycline isn't helping despite an extended course, a urine cultre as well as a prostatic fluid culture can be obtained to determine antibiotic sensitivity.
3) Unclear. The presentation of prostatitis or urethritis can vary from patient to patient.
4) I am not aware of data supporting the use of bee pollen for prostate health.
