Hello,
Prostatitis is an inflammation of the prostate gland.Usually it is with pain, but in some cases of chronic prostates, pain may not be there.Other symptoms that may be present are frequency of urination, slowing of the urinary stream, burning with voiding or ejaculation, burning in the penile tip unrelated to voiding, urethral discharge or sexual dysfunction (such as difficulty with erection).
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing.Kind regards.
thank you for your reply doctor.
I emailed my doctor to ask him what tests he did and he told me the following by email.
"What I did was a Gram stain of your urethral discharge. This showed more than 5 neutrophils per high power field indicating inflammation. The “swab” tests were sent to the Lab to try and grow bacteria, although it is extremely doubtful that any will be grown given that you have already had 3 courses of antibiotics."
I just dont know anymore. Im just paranoid that i will almost never get an erection again. What i cant understand is after i took my first course of Zithromax i was having extremely hard erections for 2 weeks until the pain in my testicles started to set in again. Could this maybe point to a bacterial form of prostatitis? I am 26, isnt it unlikely i have chronic prostatitis? I just dont feel many of the prostatitis symptoms.. No pain in prostate, no back pain, no burning when peeing, no distupted stream, no fever, no dribbling, no nausea or vomiting. Also all the pain started about a month after sleeping with a girl, who i know for certain may have been carrying something.
However all test for STDs came out negative.
