Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
An inflammatory response to the dialysis is the cause of white blood cells. However you can talk to your urologist about it once.
Here is also a link for your reference: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17071193
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Hello!
I am doing 1000 ccs of peritoneal dialysis once a week and there are alot of white blood cells in my drainage and I am wondering if they are infection coming from the peritoneal sac and if so, is this normal?
Thank You!
Hi
Thanks for the post!
White blood cells in urine are generally a sign of kidney infection or UTI. You need a to get your urine tested for infection by a culture and sensitivity test in a sterile bottle. This will tell you what organism is causing the infection and what antibiotic will kill it permanently. You should also get your kidney function and glomerular filtration analyzed.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
