I think if you don't have that flexibility and are very regimented that there are underlying issues that need addressing.
Eating whatever you want is not the answer to good weight loss.
I think that it is important to have a plan geared to your needs. Everyone is different so adapting exercise and diet to meet your own needs is important.
I like structure but perhaps what is more important is having realistic goals.
Depending on your situation you may need a structured program from a health professional.
This is a great question. I firmly believe that people do not need a strict diet plan to lose weight, but rather benefit the most from introducing small changes into their lifestyle that will get them where they want to be. Same goes for activity and exercise.
It turns out that after over two years in the making, my book, The Flex Diet, will be in stores on December 28 - the core value of the book is helping the reader design their own approach to getting healthier and losing weight - emphasizing flexibility.
