Discouraged Dieter

I have taken phentermine for weight loss under the direction of a doctor and lost 40lbs.  I feel great.  I'm continuing with the same exercise and diet regimine (weight watchers), that I was on while taking the phentermine and I seem to be putting some weight back on.  I dont quite understand this.  I was wondering if anyone knows of any over the counter medications that help to supress appetite because it seems the only way i'll stay thin is to practicly starve myself.  I wont give up on this battle.  I'm determined to keep the weight off.  I'm open to any suggestion.  Thanks.

I know how you feel, you're not alone out there. Don't get discouraged. You can do ANYTHING if you want it bad enough; when you're ready it will happen. Don't give up because by bingeing and such all that's going to do is make it harder for yourself by giving you more work to do, even though it might make things seem better at the time. Starving yourself is not an option, you have to eat to lose weight. If you don't eat your body will try to hold onto what it has, cause it will say what the hell yo, where's the food? If you eat small amounts, it will say, what the **** is this! That's all?! Let's get some of that shizz from storage. Well, you know what I mean. Dieting doesn't work, it's all about portion size, which unfortunately is hard to control. Try buying locks if your bingeing is that severe. Plan your meals ahead of time and only allow yourself to eat just that.

You know, if I listened to myself I'd have a lot less problems...

Very interesting.  I kind of do something similar myself.  I get the "hungries" on the weekends so I tend to shave points during the week in anticipation.  I do still try to eat balanced because health is more important to me than the scale.  I know that Weight Watchers would object to my approach but it seems to be working for me.

I don't endorse this, but I know other WW's who are frustrated with slow losses have tried it and it seems to work for them.

It is not true that the only way you can keep weight off is to starve yourself. Starving yourself only accomplishes one thing--it makes you unhealthy.

Post a little about yourself--your height, weight, and age.  Are your goals realistic?  Are you eating so little that your body is hanging on to every morsel you eat for dear life?

Give us a sample menu, and an idea of how much you exercise.
