lump behind my neck

i have had a bump under my skin on the back of my neck on the right side. it comes and goes but when it comes my neck hurts like when your neck gets stiff. help... the bump is visible. but is not red.

I would definitely try seeing another doctor.  Explain it and mention that you think it might be a lymph node.  They'll be able to tell you based on the location you point out.  Chances are it's nothing to worry about since it comes and goes and doesn't stay, but it's always good to get a professional opinion when it comes to our health.

a couple years now... ive tried to tell my doctor but she doesnt understand what im saying. and when i go my lump is not that big. but they come and go. at first i thought i was because of stress. but i dont know for sure.

Could be a swollen lymph node, indicating your body is fighting off some sort of infection.  How long has it been doing this?
