3 full menstrual cycles, 1 month-no birth control

I am a 26 year old mother of two, and have had a tubal ligation. I have always had an abnormal cycle, but never figured out why. My cycles last on average 7-10 days, are VERY heavy for the majority, and come with abdominal cramping & pretty severe pain. All of which my gyns over the years seem to think is okay. (?????)
For the last year I have been having 1-3 full on menstrual cycles a month! Admittedly I have had a pretty stressful year, and lost around 25-27 lbs in 3 months, but i feel healthy and stronger since loosing the weight (needed to for 7 years). I have been with 1 partner for six years and not fearing an STD, but this is not just an inconvenience, it is scary & painful!
Has anyone ever experienced this? Please let me know what I should be asking my doctor when I visit. Thank you!

Thank you for the information, I will absolutely have a conversation with my doctor as soon as they can schedule an appointment for me as they are very busy and will have none available until February 25th.

I'm not absolutely sure if any other health problems would have any impact on the exam but along with the weight loss and the 3 cycles in 4 weeksI am experiencing this moment (and I found out today that I lost 1 more pound putting my BMI at 22.3-down from 27.9 in under 10 weeks), I have also been experiencing hair loss front/center of my head to my crown, different types of acne non-stop  on my face, scalp, neck, chest, shoulders, back, buttocks, thighs, public area  & slightly on stomach/breasts. Also not sleeping, more than a few hours at a time but relentlessly tired, dizziness not only upon standing but also walking, and extreme agitation.

I know these are all things to talk to my GP about, but do I need to stress them to my GYN? My only other question is that I have a few genetic health concerns I don't know how to talk to them about without sounding like I am looking, for a problem; my father died@ 36 from Hodgkin's Lymphoma, and besides diabetes that isn't an issue right now, I have had 2 aunts and my paternal grandmother diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012.

Any point in the right direction would be wonderful, you have already given me great advice, I just don't want my doctor ignoring my symptoms since he has already declared in November that I was on a wild goose hunt with imaginary pain in my arms shoulders wrists & hands that he could find no cause for!

Hello,
You seem to be having the symptoms of metrorrhagia(heavy periods). Various factors causing it are endometriosis, ectopic pregnancy, hormone imbalance, endometrial hyperplasia, polyps, use of IUD’s and depo shots, sexually transmitted diseases,PCOS and benign and malignant pathologies of the uterus. You should consult a gynecologist and get an ultrasound uterus and a comprehensive profile of investigations done.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
