ALWAYS FEELING HURGRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it normal to always feel hungry? The last time I wrote to you guys I was wondering whether I was preg. or not and now I am about 10 ten weeks, but I always feel hungry?  Sometimes, even after I just finish eating.  Is that a sign that I am not eating properly, or I am starving the fetus inside me? What should I do?

I have been eating more than usual veggies and fruits. For example, I ate dinner last night and within a two hours I was hungry all over again.  When I finally got up to actually eat something I did not have the need to eat it.  So, I forcing myself to eat.  It's like I am hungry, but food is not prefilling my crave.  I am going to the doctor on Thursday to set up my prenatal care, because I do not want to starve myself or over eat either.  I was thinking maybe I should eat more food with more calories, but that has not worked.  I generally eat about three whole meals and three snacks.

It has been well documented that we are in fact not 'eating for two'. As far as pregnancy goes, we really only require an extra 300 calories per day which you can get by eating extra sandwich a day or a couple of extra servings of fruit & vegies. It is true that you are not supposed to diet whilst pregnant, but be careful what you eat now as if you do gain too much weight during pregnancy you will find it difficult to shift this weight after the baby is born. Having said that, I am 11 weeks and find myself starving at weird times of the day and sometimes not long after I've a meal. I think the best solution is to snack on healthy, low calorie foods. Nuts are very good tummy fillers and eating salad - whether it's greens or fruits is also filling and healthy. Pig out on those kinds of things and you can never go wrong!!!

One suggestion....Eat some fresh fruit about a half hour before you have a regular meal.  And watch your weight while you are pregnant, regardless of the  fact you are feeding for two, it is what you eat more so than how much you eat.  It is very very important to eat lots of green veggies while pregnant.  Are you taking a pregnancy vitamin...if not, then get your doctor to call you some in, or go to the pharmacy and buy some.  My Rx co-pay is $10, so the Rx vitamins are cheaper for me to get them from the doctor, than to purchase them over the counter.  Plus the doctor can call in the ones with extra folic!
