What my doctor told me... It could ALSO be from inflammation, a yeast infection, or some other type of infection. Of course there's no way to tell until the Doctor re-checks you. I'm waiting to go in for a re-check Nov. 2nd. I have "A Typical" cells. My HPV test came back negative.(3 times)I had an abnormal pap 5 yrs ago. They told me I had "high grade dysplasia". I had a colposcopy and LEEP. All paps were normal after that until now. If you're feeling really anxious, call the advice nurse or leave a message for your Doctor and ask them to help you understand all of this better. My first time, I called my Dr. crying. The Nurse spent 15 min. explaining everything and calmed me down. I didn't get upset this time, just a little nervous. I wish you the Best!

I don't know the logic or reason behind it, but my sister has had two Paps come back abnormal, and then everything was fine at the recheck.  Again, I don't understand, but the important thing is to stay in close contact with your Dr. and don't miss your appts for the recheck.

I am NO EXPERT by any means, only know what happened to me. Had a Class III Pap which I was told were precancerous cells growing and would eventually become cancerous if left untreated. underwent Cyrosurgery and now have normal Paps.
Abnormal paps should not be ignored.
Sorry I don't have more info for you other than my own personal experience.
Good Luck!--JoAnna
