I was sterilised 10 years ago but have missed two periods what do i do now ?

I am 42 years old and have missed two periods although I was sterilised in 2006, my periods have always been regular up until the beginning of this year when I had a period that lasted 18 days then they went back to normal for a few months and then I have missed coming up to two periods.  I don't know if I am going through the menopause or I am pregnant I am feeling very hormonal, mood swings, crying, hot flushes, my skin is not in good condition I have always had good skin and I'm putting weight on.  I need some advice but I am scared to go to the doctors, help ?

You might be showing early signs of menopause, or 'perimenopause'. You can do a little research online to see if you think you fit the description of  'perimenopausal'.
