I was sterilised 10 years ago but have missed two periods what do i do now ?

I am 42 years old and have missed two periods although I was sterilised in 2006, my periods have always been regular up until the beginning of this year when I had a period that lasted 18 days then they went back to normal for a few months and then I have missed coming up to two periods.  I don't know if I am going through the menopause or I am pregnant I am feeling very hormonal, mood swings, crying, hot flushes, my skin is not in good condition I have always had good skin and I'm putting weight on.  I need some advice but I am scared to go to the doctors, help ?

Hi,

You might be showing early signs of menopause, or 'perimenopause'. You can do a little research online to see if you think you fit the description of  'perimenopausal'. I know all too well that going to the doctor's is a pain in the neck, but if you are dealing with perimenopause, pregnancy, or a hormone deficiency, your doctor would be the best person to advise you on this.  There are treatments available that are natural (homeopathy) which can help calm and ease the symptoms of perimenopause that you may want to check out meanwhile...
