Adenomyosis and Endometriosis

I am 15 and I have Adenomyosis and Endometiosis.. This is very rare to have this young especially the Adenomyosis... after 6 months of trying to figure out what was wrong with me I found out I had this.. We tried surgery to laser the endometriosis off but it wasnt a success because it was mainly Adenomyosis and the endo. was too close to the uterus to laser off.. With my being 15 we are trying to do everything before we have to talk about a hysterctamy.. I had the surgery Jan. 3rd of 2012 and had my first injection Jan.24 2012... I have my second injection Feb. 24... This injection is called Lupron... It basically puts me into a medically indused menopause for the time I am on the injection, because I am so young and my doctor doesnt want to mess with my hormones too much we are not going to go past 6 months... Hopefully it will work if it doesnt then I know what I will have to face but my question is if it does work, I know getting pregnat is a risk with this condition and that this condidtion will come back unless i get a hysterctamy but I would like to know how much my chances of having kids.. at least easily is already at risk? Can anyone answer that qestion?

Wow. It sounds like you've had a battery of tests. The most I've had is the saline-infused ultrasound but she could barely get the saline in past the entry since I was in the midst of an almighty deluge. My biopsy only showed polyps. My doc's first line of treatment is BC pills. I took one dose for three weeks, doubled it for the next five and then my script was changed altogether. I do know I've since passed a fibroid (about the size of a pocket watch), tissue, various polyps and 1/4 cup worth of clots every hour for days since I started the pill over two months ago. My uterus is a freak show, purging all the layers of extra tissue. I can't help but wonder if there is some variation of hormones that would allow your endo to shrink down and do some of the same. It's my understanding that they can obstruct/cut off blood supply to certain areas to stop the leak, so to speak.

My added bonus issue is that I was just diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I just got my first prescription to treat that today. Hypothyrodism, all by itself causes irregularity and excessive bleeding. Have they checked any of that for you?

Yes, I am very young for all of this! I do know that the longer it take to try to take care of it your chances of getting pregnant AND having a safe pregnancy is all ready at risk. I know most things about all of this because my mom has this.

In Adenomyosis the uterus does swell but what confirmed our thoughts was when we did the laperscope surgery and the discoloration of all my female organs... They are supposed to be a solid light pink.. Mine were spoltchy and varried from white to light pink to an almost red color. On top of that, we found out what caused all of this which was a pool of blood in the abdimin area.... normally there is fluid but its a chicken broth color and mine was ALL blood... The blood is getting there by not only going out like it should but going back up my falopian tubes and escaping into my abdimin.. si i am losing blood... I have my period ALL the time.. and even when i dont think I'm bleeding I really am just on the inside...

My doctor said he had NEVER seen a case like this in someone my age... and he has been in practice for at least 40 years.

Wow, you are young for all that. My gyn suspected that I had adenomyosis and said that an IUD (progesterone only) is often a good way to reduce the overall symptoms but it doesn't cure it. The biggest concern for me is my symptoms, not so much the condition. It can exist, enlarging your uterus and really not bother you, if your hormones are regular/regulated.

I really have no idea how it effects fertility and your ability to carry a pregnancy to term. It seems that the entire structure of the uterus changes for that.

I hope you don't have to get the partial hysto. At my age, it wouldn't be a big deal but I hope that's not the only solution for you.
