Bleeding 4 years after Total Hysterectomy

Hi, I'm 49 years old had a Total LAVH 4 years ago, so no uterus and no cervix. Yesterday morning I woke up went to the bathroom and there was bright red blood when I wiped. I also had some cramping. I made sure that it was vaginal before I called my GYNO. He saw me a few hours later and told me he found no blood in the vagina just at the opening and asked me if I'd had sex...not for 4 days, asked me if I had burning or itching...no. Asked me if I did "something" through the night when I slept? Like what?? I said no, I was sleeping. He thought maybe I had eczema, and I was scratching myself, but I'm not itchy not burning, nothing. I told him about the cramping and he said it was impossible as I don't have a uterus so it has to be coming from my bladder or bowel. Urine test later, came back negative. I just don't buy this eczema answer. I'm still cramping and still spotting the next day. My gyno is wonderful and considered the best. I even asked him about endometro tissue breaking though my vaginal cuff, he thought it was a possibility until he gave me a thorough examination (no ultrasound), he said there is absolutely nothing wrong inside my vagina, no discoloration, no, tears, no swelling and most certainly no bleeding. Only blood is just on the inside of my vagina. I'm perplexed! Can anyone help?? BTW, I do not suffer from dryness either. On another note no matter how itchy I have been or how dry I have been having sex I have never bled this much ever. Something is wrong other than eczema that I don't appear to have any symptoms of.

I see you haven't been back since 2013. I am having similar issues (pun intended) & hope you're okay.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
HI,
The bleeding that has occurred four years after a LAVH can best be attributed to vaginal cuff bleeding. But since your gynaecologist has found nothing wrong with you, you can rest assured for the present and watch the bleeding to see if it subsides spontaneously. Haemostatic medicines may help with the same. Sometimes granulation tissue develops at the site of suturing in the vagina and this may cause bleeding. Also an ultrasound scan may help find any abnormality above the vaginal cuff that cannot be seen from below. Consult your gynaecologist for a detailed evaluation.
The answer is based on information provided. Exact advice is not possible without a proper examination and investigations. You are requested to consult your Doctor. Take care and keep us posted.

My mother-in-law had this a year or two before diagnosed with Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma. The MD had seen something on unrelated scans later like swollen lymph nodes. She did have fluid in fallopian tube needed cardiac bypass so those distractions interfered. So, the doctor missed it & was very sorry & apologized, after Dx.
I told mom-in-law to ask the MD & follow up because I suspected cancer but she did not listen, between her strong faith in God & belief a disabled LPN could possibly have any advice over all the medical professionals taking care of her. Sadly, despite 1 year of driving herself to chemo & living alone, she relapsed. She lived a few more years but could of been cured & at least, not had the last few years of her life disrupted by being given 6 months to live (which was wrong, too)...she lived with us a year then on her own at gated community for a year before actually needing any help then spent 2 years declining so moved to assisted living then nursing home. She was in her 80's, tough as nails & could of made it to 100. Doctors are just people, too & it is okay to ask questions & help them help you! If they act like a know-it-all & like you have no business giving input.... you have a lousy doc so move on. And, most docs probably appreciate a patient being involved.
Meant my comment for mapine but if she is still around, will see it. I am in similar situation but will post new comment. 9 years s/p TAH/BSO. No hormones. Just started mild menstrual-like cramps, brownish discharge. 49 y/o. Not loving my chances of not having something bad.
