What constitutes severe anemia?

Anemia is a condition marked by a deficiency of red blood cells or of hemoglobin in the blood, resulting in pallor and weariness. I've had it for a while now. I made poor diet choices and wasn't giving myself the appropriate amount of vitamins and minerals the body needs to sustain a healthy life style. I became very weak, and thin, I am very pail and I am much more susceptible to catching viruses and diseases (my immune system is very weak). I have severely irregular periods and I want to sleep all the time (at times I am unable to get out of bed).

I have to take a number of supplements to make up for what I've lost. If you go to the the doctor and ask for a blood test. They will check if you are deficient in things like iron and Vitamin B12, etc. My suggestion is to eat a healthy amount of food and exercise regularly and you should be able to avoid anemia. I hope this helps.
