It's always nice to give in to those junk food cravings but it'll actually help you feel better if you drink lots of water and eat healthy. Exercise also works pretty well to soothe cramps if you get them, try a light jog or a small work out. Hot baths are a miracle to feel more relaxed. And if you do find that you get cramps or major head aches, start taking Tylenol or Midol one or two days before, it should keep the aches off. Take one a day unless it gets really bad, then read the bottle. Also, try to get enough sleep. Hope this helps! :)

I started about 2 years ago and let me just say its very different for everyone. I get cramps only on the first day. But with me I dont get cramps, headaches, nausea or most of the common symptoms on any other days but I guess I just got lucky. With cramps I would take midol then take it up to pamprin in about a year. With the cravings I would say steer clear from sweets I know everyone says "just one wont kill me" but when you just eat one its never just one. I drink the naked juice it really cuts down the cravings ( the best one is green machine I know its green but its so good). Change your pad/ tampon ever 1-2 hours. I use tampons personally I think they are more comfortable but stick with pads for now and what I like to do is I take a nice long warm shower then get into my pjs and fuzzy socks with a warm blanket and snuggle on the couch and watch movies with my mom or my bff (or by myself depending on my mood) just take it easy for the next week and dont stress about everything so the best thing to do on your period (Im on mine right now) is to relax

Hi.  Well, I guess I should say congratulations.  :>)  It's a right of passage to start menstruation.  I don't really have any tips other than it would be awesome if you got used to talking to your mom about these things.  She's a great resource for you to bounce things off of (plus she buys the necessary supplies to handle it.) good luck
