Areolas getting darker?

I know that one of the signs of being pregnant is that the areolas get darker.  Do they become noticeably darker, like in a way that it would be very apparent that they are darker...

The first few times I was pregnant I didn't notice much.  But with my last baby they got really really dark.  Every woman and every pregnancy is different.
I think there are other reasons they can become dark, but I'm not really sure what they are.

depends on the female.  I could tell mine were darker, but maybe by a couple of shades.  your husband may not notice it.
