Please help me, do i have something wrong with me? Should i go to the doctors, however i am Embarrassed. HELPPP ME!

Hi Rebecca123, I just want to say to you that you try to overcome that embarrasement feeling you mentioned on your post, I understand and probably everysingle woman in this forum and much likely all over the world have experience that first vist to the doctor "fear"...but to me has been far more "de-stressing" to finally pay a visit to my gyn, the feeling from knowing what you are  going through and to know that you have a way to put solution on it is far more rewarding after all, I try to focus on the outcome instead of the shame or fear that involves sometimes.
Probably what you lived is normal on your body as Fuzzz stated.
still my suggestion would be that if you are worried stop trying to figure it out for yourself alone and find a gyn to who you feel comfortable talking and visiting. Mine is great and she have become a wise "friend" to ask for advice plus a guide to help me stay healty.
And I am sure you will too!. Good health to you!.

This sounds very normal to me for your age.  I think your body is putting you on notice that you will be starting to have periods soon.  I suspect you have low body fat; that's one reason puberty may start later for some girls than others.  The reason for the dark color of the discharge is that this is older blood.  Probably there was such a small amount that it took a while for your body to expell it.  What to expect will be some cramping one day, and then likely the next day the cramping will increase and you will see blood.  But your periods for the first year may be very irregular and unpredictable, so nobody can promise you'll have helpful warnings.  You might consider getting the long pantiliners and wearing one every day so you'll have a little time to get a real pad in place whenever it actually starts.  Ibuprofen (like Advil) is a real lifesaver if the cramps are bad.  If flow turns out to be heavy and pads aren't satisfactory, tampons are nothing to be afraid of.  The best brand for heavy flow here in the States is Kotex Super Plus, but I assume you are in Britain from the terminology in your post.
