Bra choosing

I'm a fourteen year old, and my breasts are very small :( Should I wear bras that are loose or tighter or don't wear at all? Cos I heard that we shouldnt wear bras so that the breasts can grow.. And does it mean that if my breasts are very small now, they'd stay small? Is there any thing a fourteen year old can do to make my breasts grow bigger?

Breasts are going to grow to the size they want to be, whether you wear a bra or not.  You won't keep them from growing by wearing one.

All I would add to what meaghank said is that your breasts can also grow, not just into your 20s, but with weight changes or after you have had and nursed a baby, even if those things happen later than your 20s.

Small breasts in a lot of ways are better than overlarge ones.  They are easier to live with (not so heavy) and it's easier to look good in clothes.  When I went up a couple of bra sizes I looked fatter, even though the rest of my body hadn't changed.  (People take a visual cue about your body size overall from the size of your chest, and people saw me as stocky when they used to see me as slim, even though my pants size was still the same.)

To echo loonie, every woman's breasts really are perfect they way they are.  If you stay a smaller size (and at 14 there is no guarantee you will), you'll attract a man who loves the whole package, not someone who is looking for a boob size only.  That's good.

The most important part of choosing a bra is wearing the correct size. I wore minimizers all through middle school and high school because I developed early and was very large chested, and they still continued to grow a cup size a year, so the tightness or looseness of your bra has nothing to do with it. Also, your breasts continue to grow into your 20's, so you have plenty of time. Some girls develop later, so relax. An easy way to tell what size your breasts will be is to look at your relatives. Breast size, like hair and eye color, is genetic, so your mom, aunts, grandma, etc. should give you a good idea of what size your breasts will be.

Wearing a bra or not is your personal choice. Some women never wear bras, some always wear bras, and some wear them only sometimes. If you do want to wear a bra, make sure you get fitted so that you are wearing the correct size, and remember that your size can change a lot in the next few years. If you go to a bra store, such as Victoria's Secret or the bra section at JCPenny's, they will measure you for free, and they both have a wide range of prices and styles. At VS, they will spend time with you, making sure that you find the perfect bra, and if you're hesitant about spending a lot of money, they do have bras at lower price points - some as low as $19.50.

Your breasts are perfect the way they are because they are yours. Although it's difficult, try not to compare yourself to other girls. You didn't mention if you had started your period yet. If not, know that the onset of puberty can change your breast size.

Bras will not prevent your breasts from growing. Bras are a cultural item, and we wear them to make our clothes look better and for comfort. You can look online to learn how to buy one that fits well.
