Oh good. I'm relieved to hear that. yes, please let me know how it goes! good luck
Thanku for your comments, don't worry I am definitely following it through, I have appointment at end of June with a surgeon. I too find it hard to believe its duct ecastia as its been happening for two years! Surely if it was this it would of resolved in all this time! I will keep you updated of what surgeon suggests.
Thanks so much
This inversion of the nipple is intermittent. I disagree that one shouldn't be concerned and that is why her doctor made the recommendation to see a specialist. I would certainly and absolutely follow through with that and disagree with the above advice. good luck
Hello,
Inverted nipple can be due to many causes but since your mammography is normal, then there is nothing much to worry. Duct ectasia can cause inverted nipple and is a condition in which the lactiferous duct becomes blocked or clogged.
Mammary duct ectasia often improves without treatment but your doctor may prescribe a 10- to 14-day course of antibiotics to treat any infection caused by mammary duct ectasia. Surgery is kept as last resort when antibiotics do not help.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
