Breast tissue in underarm

I have a lump on my underarm.  It is not painful but it is ugly and it makes me very self conscious.  When I got pregnant it really got big and filled with milk my doctor said it was breaast tissue that traveled into my armpit and that as long as it didn't hurt it really wasn't anything to worry about.  It just looks like extra baggy skin and as a result I can't wear sleeveless tops.  I've never known anyone else who has this to ask what they think or feel.  My husband thinks if it bothers me so much I shyould have it removed.  I am scared and want to know what the health risks are.  Does anyone else have this problem?  Shat should I do about it?

I have recently had breast tissue removed and am having problems the first opp the stitches were to tight and i could not move my arm much without excruciating pain in my elbow, they had to do a 2nd opp to take the internal stiches a week later, a week on from this and i am still uncomfortable to put my arm straight and lift my arm to high. I was uncomfortable with the excess tissue but more so now here's hoping once the internal swelling goes down this will improve.

Wow! They look great!! I totally agree with the who cares about having feeling in your armpits idea, lol! I'd give up my feeling there forever than to have these lumps!

Yeah I was at like 170lbs and then I ended up getting down to 130lbs and the tissue is still there, just not AS big. I think since its actual tissue, and not fat cells or anything, It won't ever go away unless you actually take it out. Although I do think losing weight does help to lose the other fat in that area and makes it not look SO big, but it lump is still there.
It was so weird, but I actually thought it was starting to go away for a bit there because it looked smaller than it had in years, like when it was first growing i guess. Buuuut then after my monthly cycle, it came back again... : / Which i thought was weird, but oh well. I guess we'll just have to have these gross armpits until we can get them removed. :(

Just posted my 2 month post-op pictures.  I am feeling great and just got to wear a sleeveless shirt for the first time!  It felt great!  So far, I don"t have any feeling back in my armpits, but I'm not concerned- who really needs to have feeling in their armpits anyway!!! :) So glad I had the surgery- definately worth it!

I don't think so.  I lost eight pounds and my armpit bulges just as before.
But swimming helps my other armpit fat reduce I think.
I am thinking about getting this surgery. I have been having pain in my armpit and got a mmgram (everything normal).   I guess the pain is due to the swollen tissue.  After I have my arm down for a long time (using my trackball on the computer) it hurts worse.
I have worn baggy t-shirts and sweaters for years... also when my bra fits the rest of me, it compresses my left side where the tissue is and is uncomfortable.
Reading these postings,  I am considering doing it next year maybe.  I only have it in one armpit.
I wouldn't ever consider surgery before, but it seems to be bothering me more and more now that I know I could
have it out of there!
