Two week period last month and now I'm late this month.

I started my period for the month of September on 9/26 and my period did not leave until 10/11. My period lasted 16 days total and I consulted my doctor about it and he told me to just make sure I document my next cycle for him.. my period should have come on 10/23. I counted from the first day of my last period (9/26) and I am considered late almost by a week. I have been sexually active twice this month but a condom was used both times and as far as I can tell there were no tears in it.. I am wondering if having a two week period messed up my cycle or if I am possibly pregnant. I hope what I  typed makes sense, any answers would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Yes, it's possible that your last (16 day) period moved up the date that your next period is due ~ it  could have changed your cycle up a bit. If you're concerned about pregnancy, take a pregnancy test. Depending on your age, periods can become irregular (shortened or lengthy, even skipped); for example if you're in your 40's you might be experiencing perimenopause. If you're in your teens periods can also be unpredictable sometimes. It's wise to keep in touch with your doctor and keep tracking your cycle. Good Luck

I am in my early 20s and recently became sexually active for the first time and we have always used a condom. I still have not gotten my period for this month. However I am having a lot of health issues that cause me to lose weight and I was wondering if that could cause a late period or an irregular cycle. I do not have any signs of pregnancy but am still concerned and I cannot bring myself to take a test.
Health issues (plus weight loss) and the stress that the issues can cause, can definitely effect your cycle. So, it's possible that you might be dealing with irregular periods for as long as health issues are present... Something to keep in mind for future reference, even though you believe pregnancy isn't an issue now; some women do not experience symptoms of pregnancy during their 1st trimester...

For now, keep documenting and try to take it easy w/ your schedule ~ get plenty of rest  :)
