I have a bit of a problem that's actually really getting in the way. I'm going back to school at the start of September and I would really like to have this problem gone by then if possible.
So I had a UTI about 2 weeks ago and went to my doctor to have some antibiotics prescribed. I was given Amoxicillin to take for 10 days to clear it up. While the UTI itself seems to have cleared up, I recently started suffering from another problem almost immediately afterwards. Every time I urinate I get this weird, painful burning sensation but only at the end of my urination. When I start urinating I don't feel anything at all. But afterwards my urethra itself will burn for a few hours afterwards making it really hard to sit for long periods of time and almost impossible to perform physical activities, BOTH of which I'll have to do at school. There is no vaginal pain or discharge and I am also not yet sexually active. I've only had this problem for the last two days so I've been looking for some possible home reliefs or even some ideas of what might be causing it before actually going to see my doctor again. My best friend's mother suffers from all kinds of kidney problems ALL the time so I know from her experience that Kidney Stones can cause urethral pain, but from the research I've done online I can't find anyone who claims that the burning pain stays even after they've finished urinating. Could this still be a kidney stone anyway or is there something else it's more likely to be? I plan to see my doctor sometime this week anyway just to be sure, but do you guys have any idea what I could expect when I get there? I'd rather already have an idea when I get there so I can ask my doctor about all the possibilities since I want this to be at least temporarily resolved for when I go back to school and would rather not have to deal with this for several months of testing. OH! And I almost forgot. While the burning pain DOES stay for a few hours AFTER urinating, if I sit with my legs apart for a bit it will go away. This is the reason why I think it might NOT be a kidney stone since I know the pain caused by those tends to stick around all the time until the stone is passed.
