Can Novasure be done twice?

I had novasure done about 3 years ago. The bleeding is not as heavy, but I still have to wear protection for more than a week. Has anyone had novasure done more than once.

The Novasure is definitely something that requires a lot is research before going through with it. The way its done, it can sometimes miss small pieces of uterine tissue which can then make it so you still end up having bleeding but perhaps at first not as much as you had before.

But unfortunately, as a procedure, it's not really a long term solution to the bleeding issue because of the Post Ablation Syndrome problem which happens to so many many women years after getting it done. That's when the blood pools behind the scarred lining and eventually builds up and causes such extreme pain that the only option at that point is a hysterectomy. This is the main reason why I did not get the novasure and instead opted for a mirena IUD, which is working really well for me. I did hours and hours of research on novsasure and found too many peer reviewed articles about Post Ablation Syndrome so that was enough for me to decide not to do it. Also thankfully my gyne told me that given my history with some uterine issues I was not a good candidate anyway.

So for you, I really think what happened is that the novasure missed some uterine lining and that's why you're still bleeding. It's not an uncommon problem so it's not all together surprising that you're having this problem.

It should not be done twice. In fact, it shouldn't be done at all. Women who have metal clips for birth control should never have Novasure because the clips will melt and cause Post Ablation Procedure. This procedure may work for a limited time but for many, the horrors occur immediately. Insurance companies now require this procedure before a hysterectomy because it is less money. Most women will end up with a hysterectomy. There are contraindications why you should not have NovaSure done but gynecologist perform the procedure even though the woman is not a candidate. Doctors are not necessarily well informed and many women suffer. I had the procedure in 2005 and I would never recommend this procedure to any one I cared about. NovaSure is basically a form of torture for women. It's been called Satan on a Stick which describes NovaSure perfectly.
