Can you get pregnant after very light spotting?

Ever since I started my birth control in September I have had a heavy period every other week. My last period started on New Years and lasted 8 days. On the 14th I started spotting very lightly. It ended later that night. I was sexually active that night. Is it possible for me to get pregnant after that little bit of spotting? I'm really good at taking my birth control at the same time everyday but I'm not sure if I could take that into consideration because my friend got pregnant after taking the same pills properly.

Well I should've started my period 2 days ago so it's looking like I'm pregnant again but I'm not holding my breath. I'm still gonna take a test and hope it's negative. With everything going on we can't afford another baby...I have a 6th month old right now so it's gonna be really difficult if I am... :-(

Hello,
You can test pregnancy by a highly sensitive pregnancy test 10 days post ovulation with a sensitive ( 20 - 25 mIU ) pregnancy test like aimstrip test. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Should I just wait to see if I get my period? It's only a week and a half (or so) away. I just had a baby almost 6 months ago so I'm really hoping I'm not pregnant again. My relationship with my daughter's father depends on that actually.

Hello,
Spotting mid cycle can be due to ovulation but if you are sexually active then it is important to rule out any implantation bleeding.

However to confirm the status of pregnancy, I suggest you to test for pregnancy by a highly sensitive pregnancy test 10 days post ovulation with a sensitive ( 20 - 25 mIU ) pregnancy test. Also then I would suggest you to get your serum HCG levels estimated since this is more specific than urine for pregnancy tests.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
