Chest Pain Near Sternum When Swallowing or Breathing Deeply

I am a 26 y/o female.  I recently started a new job three weeks ago.  Last week I woke up in the middle of the night with chest pains upon inhaling.  The entire next day my chest hurt - a burning, pressure type of pain - when ever I would breathe in or swallow.  It went away for a few days and now it is back and the pain has significantly increased. I don't have insurance yet and am worried that something serious may be wrong.  However, I don't want to get too worried over a strained muscle.  Please help!

It sounds like it could be pleurisy.  It is an inflammation around your lungs.  Google it and see if the symptoms match yours.  I'm not a doctor but just an idea.  I have had it before a long time ago.  I think they just had me take ibuprofen to reduce the inflammation (and for pain).

I actually just looked it up and it said that you should seek medical attention because you could get a fluid build up (if it is pleurisy) that could be serious.  However, they said it is usually not serious.
