Clean up a Yeast infection?

I have been diagnosed with a yeast infection- I am on Diflucan and will be using a supository in 2 days...anyway, my question is- in the meantime- I obviously have discharge in my vagina, should I try to clean it out myself or wait for it to come out on its own.  When I open my vagina I can see the discharge and I suppose I could wipe at it with a tissue or q-tip.  But am I supposed to just let nature take its course?  Or go in there and clean things up???

Thanks.  Now things seem to be fine.  I am wondering if it was just so bad because I went to the gyno earlier in the day and she was poking around in there?  Now I can barely see anything - and I never knew I had a yeast infection until I went to the dr!  I had a UTI earlier in the month, took antibiotics and must have triggered it.  I was going to see her cause I had a small amount of discharge and I wanted to be sure the UTI was gone.  So when I came home and took a look myself- I nearly fell down!  It wasn't like that before I went!!!
