Clomid not working

I am 35 and have been on Clomis for a few months.  I satrted with 50mg 2 months ago and now upping to 100 on month 3.  50mg was not successful and I was wondering if anyone out there had success when switching to a higher dosage of clomid?  I don't think I have ever ovulated and wondered if there was anyone else out there who may be in the same boat that has success or failure stories.  I want to hear them all.

Your only supposed to take Clomid for 5 days each cycle... As you haven't had a period in 8 years I think you need to see a DR and get Provera to start one, Having no period for such a long time is NOT good for you. It can cause all sorts of problems from minor things to cancer so please see a DR asap
My FS has me taking Clomid from cd2-6. 50mg didn't make me O so i'm now waiting a few days to take Provera and to start 100mg Clomid cd2-6.

Ok.. A bit unorthodox but got clomid (50g) tablets privately, recommended to me by my doctor sister. Noone knows i have not had a period for 8 years, but I know I will struggle to conceive.

I have looked all over online for a typical 'cycle length' but have been taking 50g tablets ever day for about 3 weeks now. Do i continue to take this dosage? Do i need to have a break now (if so for how long?)

Going to my family doctor is really not an option so need advice from people on here!!

Thanks!

Hi all

I have been trying for 5 years now without any medication other than tablets to help with my irregular periods. I feel that frustration when it comes to realising that your period is around the corner aftering praying to get pregnant.
I had a ovulation test done on the 24 Oct and the doctor called me today to say I wasnt ovulating. It makes me wonder whether I have been ovulating for the past 5 years. I am yet to call the doctor back and ask what the next step is but will ring first thing tomorrow.
It is a heartbreaking situation especially for this length of time. Will suggest CLOMID when I go see the doctor as it looks like its being doing wonders for the majority of you lucky ladies.'Best wishes to you all

Well I am now on round 5 of clomid and have ovulated every month except the 1st but still no pregnancy ;( . The good thing is that after a while you start to forget you are taking it and get a bit stronger. The only reminder is the mood swings! Not sure if this helps but my nurse told me that your period always arrives exactly 14 days after ovulation. Also don't assume that you ovulate on day 14 with clomd, I don't ovulate until day 20 / 21 and it can make ovulation late !

Hey all I have been trying to get pregnant for almost 2 years. We started seeing an OBGYN in early January to get some help, I've been through all the bloodtesting and had the xray, my tubes and everything are connected. The only problem I have seemed to have is my lh and fsh hormones are flopped, but I do not have PCOS. I was started on Clomid 50 mg. this last month and I took an at home ovulation predictor kid and I did ovulate, I had blood work done but haven't gotten my results on my progesterone levels yet. I'm due to start my cycle at the beginning of next week..but I just DON'T feel pregnant and have been having warning signs that my period is on the way. I am getting really frustrated and depresed (plus the Clomid does not agree with my body I was so sick to my stomache, hot flashes, headaches, mood swings, and weight gain) I feel for everyone out there trying and having no success, it crushes me every month. Good luck to all and try to keep the faith. God Bless

I think that clomid is a strange medicine and you have to things month by month. I was given 100mg of clomid which did not make me ovulate on my 1st cycle. I was gutted. Plus I had all the horrible side effects at that time. I did lose hope that it would make me ovulate but surprisingly the second cycle did make me ovulate. I was told by the hospital that you need to take clomid on a month by month basis. I was also told that it is very common for the first cycle not to work, so don't give up hope if you have cycles that do not work. Plus theres lots of other medicines that are stronger and are more likely to work if clomid fails. Now I need to wait and find out if the 3rd cycle works ! I am being monitored and last month there was 16mm and 17mm follicles which obviously released. Plus I should add that the hospital initially told me to take the 2nd cycle without provera first. The doctor then told me I should not take clomid without having a period! Its all confusing and the doctor seemed surpised that I have ovulated on the 2nd round given the confusion!

Hello,

This is my third month on clomid and nothing yet. I went to the doc on day 14th. He saw two follicles. The one on the left was 18mm and the one on the right was 14mm. I'm not sure if i should stop taking this medicine. I'm 241lbs, do think my weight is playing a vital role in this. He started me on clomid at 50mg the first month, 100mm on the second month, and my third month 150mg. I don't feel like I'm ovulating and is getting very depressed. I need some very helpful advise about using Clomid and getting pregant.

I have been on 50 mg of clomid since november of 08'  but took a month off in feb., because i heard it can thin your cervix. I have been switchin my days of when i take them (EX: one month i try days 5-9 or 2-7)  I have had no luck gettin prego, but I took opk each month and no ovulation except i started ovulating in january for the first time.now Each month I get really bad yeast infections but no pregnanycies.  Do you think it would be wise to up my dose to 100 mg???

I am computer illiterate. I have no way of scanning them in. Yep, the 22nd at 2:00. I am so nervous and excited to hear it. I know I will feel so much more relaxed after this appt. My doctor said that once we hear it the chance of miscarriage is pretty diminished. I was also be 11 weeks 3 days so that is pretty close to being done with the first trimester.
Damn, I wish your BFP would get here already. I am still convinced that June is your month. I can feel it!!!!!

I did ovulate. However my cycles were over 40 days and by the time I did ovulate the doctor felt the egg was no longer healthy and would unable to be fertilized. Clomid shortened my cycles and brought ovulation on sooner.
