Diabetes, birth control, illness, antibiotics, and a random x factor can all cause a yeast infection. So if this vaginal inflammation is a yeast infection either or can cause it. You're really young so I don't know if you're worried about diabetes- do you have diabetes or many risk factors? If you have reoccurring yeast infections that can be a sign of diabetes, however yeast infections can easily occur without diabetes. So, get tested for glucose blood levels but you might want to talk to your dr about other causes.
I probably should have been more clear lol.. I was asking because my mom has been having issues like this and she went to a doctor and was treated for a yeast infection, but even after she took the medication, she still had inflammation. She says she hasn't had this type of problem until she changed birth control so she was wondering if it could be from that or if her type 2 diabetes could cause it. She doesn't take any medication or insulin for it. So could it possibly be from the diabetes that are causing the yeast infections and that symptom just not go away?
Either is possible. Also sometimes a yeast treatment doesn't work all the way. I suggest she go back to her dr, make sure her diabetes isn't going out of control, see if she still has a yeast infection hanging around (or maybe even a bacterial infection that was hiding under the yeast problem)-perhaps she needs a stronger treatment, and then maybe talk to the dr about a different form of birth control.
Alright. I'll be sure to let her know. Thank you (:
