Forgive me if this is in the wrong spot, but it was the closest category that I could find.
I am 27, started my period at the age of 8, and have never been regular. Was tested by several doctors when I was 17, and was diagnosed with a pituitary deficiency, not enough hormone.
Up until last year, I went 5 years without a period, BC didn't jump start it at all, so we let it go. Last year I lost about 60 pounds, which I'm guessing "agreed" with my body, and I started my period. Around the same time, I started getting an uncontrollable cough, which would gag me and make me throw up. It wasn't until a few months ago I noticed the pattern. It seems that within a week of me starting my period, I begin the coughing spells.
I've been to my regular doctor, he said it was just a sinus problem, was draining down my throat causing me to cough and gag. I go to the gyno every 6 months (all of the female cancers run HIGH in my family, so I'm a little paranoid) he just gave me a dumbfounded look when I questioned this.
Has anyone ever experienced this before? I have tried taking sinus meds, like the doctor suggested when it starts but nothing seems to really help it. The only thing that seems to work is Tylenol PM, at least that way I'm getting some sleep.
Thanks in advance.
