vaginal itching

I started having vaginal itching around my vulva, in between my labia and around my anus for about 5 days now. There is nothing visible and there is no change in odor. I tried 2 of 3 days of an otc yeast medicine and had my doctor call in 1 pill of diflucan all with no relief. I also recently washed all of my underwear in a hypoallergenic detergent and still nothing. Can someone point me in the direction of what it could be? I'm not sure I can wait til Monday to see a doctor!

Yes Augmentin can be too strong and actually kills the good bacteria along with the bad. I would suggest any time you take an antibiotic, you should take a probiotic as well. This will replenish the good bacteria which will reduce the chanes of getting a yeast infection. There are specific probiotics for vaginal health. Anytime I'm prescribe a strong antibiotic I go ahead and ask for a prescription of Diflucan. I hope you find relief soon!

I just finished a round of Augmentin for a sinus infection! Which I'm sure is the culprit. Also I use softsoap body wash. My husband and I haven't had sex since before the symptoms started. Thanks for all the info guys!

It sounds like an external yeast infection did you rub the yeast infection cream on those areas? It could be that you need another round of the Diflucan sometimes it is so bad that one pill is not enough. What kind of soap do you use some soaps are too strong and cause yeast infections. Zest will I know and shower gels as well like the kind from bath and body works. Scrunchies can transmit yeast infections if you unknowingly used one during a yeast infection. Also if you have a single partner it is possible that it's being transmitted back and forth constantly being sent back and forth
Unknowingly. If that is the case your partner should be treated too. If you douche it can kill your good bacteria causing yeast infections.
